Bulgarian sides gain promotion
Tuesday, 20 May 2003
PFC Rodopa Smolyan and PFC Makedonska Slava Simitli will play in the Bulgarian Premier League next season after they secured the first two promotion places from the second division, or First League.
Going up
A 4-1 victory against PFC Beroe Stara Zagora was enough to ensure top-flight status for Rodopa with two games to play, while Makedonska Slava also had reason to celebrate after their 3-2 win against PFC Conegliano German. Rodopa have 64 points in the table, one more than Makedonska Slava, but seven above PFC Vidima-Rakovski Sevlievo in third spot.
Relegation issues
While the top three sides will gain automatic promotion, the teams in fourth and fifth positions will play off for the fourth available place in the Premier League, which next season extends to 16 clubs from 14. PFC Rilski Sportist Samokov and PFC Dobrudzha Dobrich have already been relegated to the First League.

А честито! Очертава се да лъскаме обувките на "Левски" (даже направо да им зачислят 6 точки за следващия сезон, а ако играем срещу тях за купата ще си е комедия), но нищо, ще има и хубави емоции.
