Frank De Bleeckere refereed the Group 8 game between Sweden and Bulgaria in Stockholm. After the game, Bulgaria manager Hristo Stoichkov was furious over Belgian referee Frank De Bleeckere's decision to send off midfielder Blagoy Georgiev and accused Swede Johansson of "being aware in advance of how the game would end". Then, he picked up four match ban.
Sep. 30, 2005:
Frank De Bleeckere refereed U17 soccer World Cup semi final game between Brasil and Turkey. Brasil defeated Turkey with a last minute goal (4-3). Frank De Bleeckere sent off 3 (three) Turkish players, ruined the thrilling game. Also, the Brasilian player who assisted the decisive goal fauled our player; Bleeckere didn’t whistle, waited for them to score.
Nov. 8, 2005:
Spanish referee Luis Medina Cantalejo was originally due to take charge of Turkey's home match against Switzerland in Istanbul. However, he had recently refereed a UEFA international club match in which a Turkish club was involved (Schalke 04-Fenerbahce, Nov. 2). Therefore, he has been replaced by Belgium's Frank de Bleeckere by FIFA (set up starts here).
Nov. 16, 2005:
Frank de Bleeckere did his job against Turkey one more time. Fatih Terim accused Frank de Bleeckere of a conspiracy against his squad:
