There are several routes to reach the Christos Kakalos refuge at the plateu "Oropedio Mouson".
Zonaria (6 hours, well marked route, second part is a long traverse)
From "Prionia" you follow the main path, direction to "Refuge A". After you pass "Refuge A" keep on the same route until you meet the traverse-path of "Zonaria". At that point turn right to begin the long traverse of "Zonaria". Continue until you reach the plateau "Oropedio Mouson". Attention, keep an eye for falling stones when traversing at "Zonaria"!
Kofto (5 hours, little tricky route finding at second part)
From "Prionia" you follow the main path, direction to "Refuge A". From there you shall follow a steeper path that drives you directly to the plateau "Oropedio Mouson".
Gkortzia - also known as Diastaurosi (well marked, 6 hours)
You begin from "Gkortzia" - also known as "Diastaurosi" (this is a couple of kilometres before reaching "Prionia"). Follow the main path. You shall pass "Mparmpa", "Koka", "Petrostrougka", "Skourta", "Laimos" and finally reach the plateau "Oropedio Mouson". In case of heavy fog conditions on the plateau, follow the frequent green poles to reach "Christos Kakalos" refuge in safety.
Gomarostoli (4 1/2 hours, steep)
From "Prionia" follow the blue marked path. This is the shortest but hardest route to reach the refuge.
Kserolaki (10 hours)
This route begins from "Kserolaki" at north of Olympus. It is a climbing route, 2500m long, grade TD, leading to "Toumpa" peak and from there to the plateau "Oropedio Mouson".
Mparmpala (6 1/2 hours)
From "Krebatia" refuge follow the marked path. The route passes from "Mparmpala" peak to finally reach the plateau "Oropedio Mouson".
