With all due respect and all that, some of your turns of phrase in your first post can, just, be interpreted as coming across as the merest tad big-headed. Like, speaking English better than the average Brit (a good one, that! I know what you mean. Thousands wouldn't...) and wanting loadsamoney (yeah; who doesn't!). Cut'n'thrust, ego and such like not normally a problem in most walks of life. It's just that interpreters, you see, have to be diplomatic and self-effacing to a greater-than-normal degree. Plus... you walk into a club-full of people -- last thing you want is to make them reckon you're a bit of a pratt.

Me -- been there, done that. The only bit of advice I can proffer is -- got to scale The Wall. The Wall being the mental barrier -- the fear -- that you ain't going to cope when translating simultaneously. Not a question of practice, sadly. Known dozens of really, really, really good people who never got over it and as a result languish in consec work (at best). Rather, a question of mindset. Hard to explain further...

Plus, you really do have to brush up on your Bulgarian. Stress the written side, coz I'm sure orally you come across as native. Like, learn to type using BDS, do a dozen translations, keep doing written work as a pot-boiler alongside the conferences, and, err-r... well, you get my drift.
