за да не правя много грешки смятам да продължа на английски за няколко реда... за да мога да се изразя пълноценно...
All due respect, this response doesn't sound like much in the way of 'Най-доброжелателно' - honestly, if being pompous and overbearing is your standard of 'Най-доброжелателно' - then I imagine I cant really compete with your standards of 'erudite' or your classification of 'general knowledge'... anyway - in answer to your correspondance :
Im currently studying law at NBU - 3rd year; my spoken Bulgarian is just about perfect, its just my written language that has suffered due to lack of practice more than anything else, Id go as far as saying that there is no way you would be able to tell im not from Bulgaria, except maybe that I dont have any dialectical impediments (от варна сам, ама не говоря меко! ). It's probably worth mentioning that I made alot of mistakes as I dont have phonetic yet on this lappie, and I havn't really had to write much on a keyboard in BG. As such I imagine Id probably have made less mistakes if I were writing by hand..... and we're not here to discuss my ability in writing - this is why im seeking a job as a verbal translator (duhhhh)...
also - I might not have WORK experience, but I've had to translate plenty of times before (at least 10-20+ occassions for several hours at a time) as I helped some family friends who were selling property in Buglaria to UK nationals, and I was an obvious choice - and I managed just fine (Im a pretty harsh judge of myself, and things went smoothly and I really had no trouble translating from/to both languages)
Finally - Id like to comment on the business as a whole, judging from most of the verbal translators I have seen at work in Bulgaria - yeah... ' определени специфични умения' - who in star wars christmas special are you kidding?; a large percentile of them have terrible accents, miss connectives, constantly get words plain wrong, fail to translate or even cognate cultural references/jokes/phrases etc.
I dont know if you got yourself a philology degree or somethin along those lines that gives people a big ol set of iron balls down east... - but that dont mean for a second you have close to the ability of a native speaker - and as far as translating... It's a shame that you find it so difficult as to need said ' определени специфични умения' - I don't and frankly, I think Id do a much better job than alot of other people already working in this field... some with extensive experience.
however - Thank You Very Much for the tidbits of useful info thrown in among the self serving little dollop o' knowledge you hath graced me with!
if anyone has comments similar to the one posted above - **** you and the horse you rode in on. Im just asking for advice, not a personal opinion on the skills I possess/will need - thats my business, I just want to hear from some people working in this field what they're experience of finding work are, and where I should start. There's no point commenting on my ability speaking as I cant really prove anything to anyone over a forum...
Thanks for reading - sorry for the rant. People like Tyrannosaurus Rex, hiding snide little comments and judgements in lieu of useful information make kittens die with every tap of their keyboard....
