NANANANANAN TRA RTF VALERIA POLYANOFF ALCHEMY OF THE FUTURE /DREAMERS ONLY/ ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND HER BOOK Valeria Polyanova was born on February 4, 1954 in Harkov, the Ukraine. When she was six month old, her family moved to Bulgaria. She graduated from the Fine Arts High-school and from the Sofia University, in Russian Philology. Well versed in five Slavonic languages, she has been working for years as translator and editor of fiction, mainly from Ukrainian and Russian. In late 1996, her first book, Alchemy of Dreams, came out in Sofia; it was published under the pen-name Val Glade /Publishing House Cameo, Sofia, Bulgaria, ISBM 954-8340-22-4/. The Introduction to ALCHEMY OF THE FUTURE /Dreamers Only/ offered below, gives a fairly good idea of her new book intended as a specific complement and follow-up to the first one. The author recounts her own vicissitudes in dream-reading, sharing with the public what she has learned by the method of tests and mistakes about oneiromancy - this fascinating game of logic which opens not only the highway to self-knowledge but also to the perfection of intuition and the better orientation in the immediate and the distant future. Spirituality is a vast wealth called upon to bring us purely practical utility as well - to endow us with more joy and inner harmony, and sometimes to help us realize our dreams. The dream-book contains the work-out of 792 symbols; after the oneiric interpretation of many of them, carefully selected detailed data is offered of their interpretation in psycho-analysis, as well as interesting details drawn from traditional symbolism. Thus the parts Nature and Man are self-styled short collections of the traditional symbols and the basic elements of the collective non-conscious, defined by K. G. Jung as "super-personal in its nature". The book is written in an accessible language and is intended for a broad range of readers. All and exclusive rights in ALCHEMY OF THE FUTURE /Dreamers Only/ for Bulgaria and abroad belong to the author who has also a translation in full of the book into English in electronic form. To Mother To my children Victor and Martina In memory of Dad, Granny and my Brother TABLE OF CONTENTS: INTRODUCTION 1. Do we know the value of what we have? 2. Of the imprudence of picking daisies in a mine-field, or how Ibecame a dream-reader in spite of myself. 3. How sometimes the absence of knowledge can be a great chance. Plunging into the pink future - a play of a curious panther with fire. 4. Of the hard life of Buridan's donkey. ONE - DREAMS AND THE FUTURE 1. How the Fishers' Bastion in Budapest justified the symbolism of its name. Of predictions and the extent to which we believe them. Of the use of mirages which are preferable to naked truth but not during Trojan Wars. What do Cassandra's fate, prosperity abroad and a child's nick-name have in common? 2. Is it healthy to give up day-dreaming? How does Morpheus install supreme justice for parents and assign them the royal place in his messages even to the most self-willed enfants terribles. It is sometimes preferable to dream of field flowers than to receive a bouquet of orchids while awake. 3. Of the practical use and the little conveniences of oneiromancy, saving sometimes nerves, time and, naturally, money. Some considerations on oneiro-hangovers, the Great Nightly Wandering and the nasty mornings when we mount the broom. 4. Can insomnia be cured without having a private chamber orchestra? How sometimes excessive thrift while awake makes it really hot because of a dream. Of the legal ways of getting rich and the vital question of supreme justice in distributing record jackpots. 5. Love dreams - a fine testing-ground for beginners in dream-reading. Of incidents in everyday life illustrating not less than dreams the ending of stories even a-quarter-of-a-century old. The next attack against the first and great love from the Introduction which shrinked but remained on the hard disk. How thanks to our knowledge of symbolism we can understand the messages without words from the former princes of our day-dreams. 6. Why the "Scapegoat" method should not be implemented when our computer breaks down? Of the relation between micro-cosmos and the scanning and healing disk programs. It is useless to liken ourselves to mentally healthy hackers pressing to enter the Global Network with a decrepit computer, and blaming the Internet when they strike a snag. Of nightmares - optimistically, and of dream-books - with pessimism. With gratitude to Artemidorus and all fortune-tellers laboring for the sake of a better future. 7. And yet - how to interpret Morpheus' messages? The dreams - a Universe of the Heart, a Mirror of the Spirit and a Castle of the mind. The living symbols from the point of view of Time and Space - in quest of the Center. TWO - DREAM-GUIDE PART 1 - NATURE 1. Water. 2. Earth. 3. Air. 4. Fire. 5. Sky, luminaries and seasons. 6. Plants. 7. Animals. PART TWO - THE HUMAN 1. Color. 2. Architecture. 3. The objects. 4. The protagonist. 5. Action. 6. Other characters. 7. Clothes, shoes, finery and arms. 8. The table. 9. Feasts, rituals. 10. The road. THREE - HAPPY ENDING 1. The great and the small wonders of everyday life - a look into the world of the past. 2. In memoriam. 3. You want material evidence? Okay. 4. To my friends. 5. In lieu of Good-bye. AFTERWORD to the readers of my Web-page. My unknown new friends, dreamers with a questing spirit, dear thinking and feeling humans, It is to you that I lovingly dedicate this book over which I wept and laughed through tears while writing it. Since you had the patience of reading up to this point, I have a little present for you: a maxim which broke out of my heart at an instant of joy: "Youth is not age, it is a state of the spirit". I consider myself to be its author but it is very possible to have involuntarily appropriated this wonderful truth. Anyway, no matter who said that, it sounds well, doesn't it? Thank you for visiting my page. Wishing you to have your beautiful dreams come ture, parting with you is your hostess: VALERIA POLYANOVA, alias VAL GLADE This book was translated from Bulgarian by SVETLA MANEVA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am looking for a publisher E-mail me to valglade@hotmail.com Mail: Valeria Polyanoff POBox 18 1784 Sofia Bulgaria (Russian, Byelorussian, Ukrainian, Serbian, Croatian, English) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This side is designed and maintained by Arik Group Ltd.
