Cocktails
Common drinks made from Chambord include the Raspberry Margarita, French Manhattan, Butler Miller (Chambord Vodka Gimlet),[3] Kir Imperial (Chambord and Champagne), Chambord Daiquiri, Chambord Royal Spritzer, Lemonado (Vodka, lemonade and splash of Chambord), Little Purple Men, The Purple Hooter Shooter, Sour Grapes, Black Opal, Peanut Butter and Jelly (w/ Frangelico or Castries Peanut Cream), Grape Crush, French Martini (which started the 'cocktails as a Martini' craze), and the "Blood of Christ". -
Kir Imperial Recipe:
This kir imperial recipe takes the classic black currant and Champagne cocktail and freshens it up with sweet-tart raspberry liqueur. This colorful cocktail with subtle berry flavor is a perfect choice to serve at sophisticated, retro-style soirees.
Ingredients:
1/2 ounce Chambord or raspberry liqueur
2 1/4 ounces Champagne
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Total Time: 2 minutes
Preparation
How to make a kir imperial:
Add the raspberry liqueur to a Champagne flute and pour the Champagne over it.
This kir imperial recipe makes 1 serving. -
Production - Chambord is produced on the premises of a traditional Loire Valley chateau, using all natural ingredients. Chambord is made from red and black raspberries, Madagascar vanilla, Moroccan citrus peel, honey and cognac. Whole raspberries and blackberries are steeped in French spirits for a period of several weeks to produce a fruit infusion. This infusion produces a distinct raspberry flavour and aroma. -
Variations:
The Kir Royal is made with crème de cassis, a liqueur made from blackcurrant – instead of Chambord. Place the crème de cassis in the glass, then fill the flute gently, with cold brut champagne and garnish as you would the Kir Imperial.
The Kir was the original drink from which the others were created. A Kir is simply creme de cassis and dry white wine. Garnish as desired.
Pair your Kir Imperial or Kir Royal with something that will round out the flavor spectrum. Before dinner, consider pairing this with a simple, savory snack or hors d’oeuvres. During dinner, the “Kirs” go well with grilled meat or seafood. And after dinner, they complement savory cheeses or desserts. -
