Темата на английски!
The purpose of this topic is to exercise my english skills. For the start I am thinking to practice tenses.
Re: Темата на английски!
Which tenses, boss? Should we try to think of some kind of an exercise? Or would you prefer to share any difficulties you find?

Re: Темата на английски!
Present perfect past simple, present perfect continuous and past perfect are the most problematic.
Hm, exercise? What you mean ?

I preffer just to have conversation in English.

As a female you have dedicated centre of speach so it is more easy for you to learn with listening. Anyway I am listening audio books too, but it is a harder for me and slower :(

Re: Темата на английски!
Speech, boss, not speach :)
I haven't thought about that, but I guess you're right...
So, tell me, how long have you studied English and where? And also, why do you need to perfect your English? It's pretty good as it is now :)

OK :)
I studied english between second and 10th class as a private student and of course in elementary school I had lessions too.
I want to improve my English because I want to read books and most of them are not translated in bulgarian at reasonable time and price. Also knowing another language is good especially for someone who likes to be a programmer :)
"It's pretty good as it is now :)" I don`t think so. This post took me around 10 minutes :)))

Re: Темата на английски!
Which private school did you attend? I went to Pharos after my prep class at high school. Later, the headmistress of Pharos, which also happened to be my teacher, established her own school - Big Ben, and I finished the year there.
10 minutes is not that bad :) I type even slower in Bulgarian, despite of my quick mouth ;)

Re: Темата на английски!
I had a personal teacher missis Tonkova. She was a very good teacher but I was very bad student. She was living in a neighborhood and my hours usualy were late in the evening and I hated this. Instead of watching "Adventures in Space" or "Tortless Ninja" I was speaking english.
LOL. I don`t feel comfortable to speak or write in english, so I have a lot to learn.

Don't you mean the neighborhood?
Also, turtles, not tortless :)
I don't feel comfortable speaking or writing in English...
What about watching movies without subtitles?

Мерси за забележките, приемам ги. Без тази за тортлес нинджа. Нали го даваха по канал франс интернационал, така както съм ги написал ми звучат ала френски :)))))
I am good enough to watch movies with english subtitles. Without any subtitles is a higher league. I can understand but it is not enjoyable. Usually I am watching Survivior with subtitles and Amazing race without.

Re: Темата на английски!
I'm sorry, but writing in Bulgarian is unacceptable. Try and write it in English, I dare you! You don't need to observe the exact meaning :)
I was initially unable to watch House M.D. without subtitles, but after a while it became easier :)

Because in the middle of 90`s I watched the TMNT show on the french international channel I usually refer to this show in a some kind of french pronounce.
After a while I stopped to watch carefull this show. The medical part of the show stopped to entertain me after Sandino guessed the exact condtion after the first minutes.

femdom? ;)))
Because in the middle of the 90`s I watched the TMNT show on the french international channel, I usually refer to this show in a-не some kind of french pronunciation.
After a while I stopped watching this show carefully. The medical part of the show stopped entertaining me after Sandino guessed the exact condition after the first minutes.
Boss, I think you need to practise the usage of gerunds and infinitives after certain verbs :) For example:
I stopped smoking means I quit smoking.
but
I stopped to smoke means I stopped in order to light a cigarette. :)
Bad Sandino, he spoiled the show for you :)

Actually, this sentence
The medical part of the show stopped to entertain me after Sandino guessed the exact condtion after the first minutes.
sounds better this way
The medical part of the show stopped entertaining me after Sandino was able to guess the exact condition after the first few minutes.

Re: Темата на английски!
Nooo, Desi is a "mother" type. She is like a mother to her boyfriend. But she also demands all conversation to be in English even when we are having political disagreements!
My biggest problems are with past tenses, the/a usage and on/to/at rules.

Re: Темата на английски!
like a mother? sounds... well, a little bit strange... but, hey, if it works for them both, who am i to judge :)
the / a (an) usage is very easy :)
the = definite article
a/an = indefinite article
For example, if I say, "Let's read the book," I mean a specific book. If I say, "Let's read a book," I mean any book rather than a specific book.
The is used to refer to a specific or particular member of a group. For example, "I just saw the most popular movie of the year." There are many movies, but only one particular movie is the most popular. Therefore, I use the.
"A/an" is used to refer to a non-specific or non-particular member of the group. For example, "I would like to go see a movie." Here, I'm not talking about a specific movie. I'm talking about any movie. There are many movies, and I want to see any movie. I don't have a specific one in mind.

Re: Темата на английски!
i am a slow learner and I need more practice :)
"like a mother? sounds... well, a little bit strange..." Do you really think so ?
I am thinking(I think?) that this is very frequently in our generation.
"if it works for them both, who am i to judge :) " This works only for the "child". The "mother" wants real children and often is in depression.

Me neither. In fact I don't like this fucking language at all. But for the prosperity of our beloved boss, I'll take participation in your nice conversation. ;)
Oh, let me say something for the Birdy - me falta el español mucho

Re: Темата на английски!
don't worry, we'll practice :)
the member - членът / члена
а member - член
well, it's strange for me... although there's a saying that a man always stays a child, only his toys get more expensive :)
a depression - пред нечленуваните бройни съществителни - винаги неопределителен член :)
