Let's face it. When you see an eagle, you think of majestic. When you spot a buzzard, you get a feeling of revulsion. The eagle is heroic and awe-inspiring. The buzzard is ugly and repulsive. One you want to protect, the other you consider a pest. How so? They are both birds. And, in some ways, they are even similar. But the difference is readily and instinctively apparent. It is similar with Skinheads. When you see an American, you think of grand. When you encounter a Russian, you become leery.
True enough, when you hear of Russians driving Khazaks out of Moscow, you think of Americans driving Mexicans out of Los Angeles. Your ears perk up and you think, for a moment, that perhaps there is something you both have in common. But the very word "Skinhead" means "brotherhood." Can you picture an eagle in the same nest as a buzzard? Then, of course, you cannot think of an American in the same crew as a Russian. Americans are of North-European and Anglo-Saxon extraction, whereas Russians are Asiatic and Eastern. Notice the fullness of the American's eyes contrasted with the slantiness of the Russian's. An American, whose ancestors are Germanic, is the civilizer of the world, whereas a Russian, whose ancestors pilfered and plundered the West, is the ravager of Europe.
Prior to George W. Bush, when you thought of an American, you would think of charging up San Juan Hill or hoisting the flag on Iwo Jima. But when you think of a Russian, you get the image of the butchers of Budapest and the rapers of Berlin. A Skinhead bases everything on blood, so it becomes not a question of politics, but of blood. Americans are Nordic, fair-skinned, high-minded and of strong character. Russians are Slavic, pasty-to-dark-skinned, dull-minded and barbaric. As for technology, as Bob Hope once quipped, "Our German scientists were just better than their German scientists."
No corruption of blood
There have been overtures, on both sides, seeking some sort of accommodation, understanding or, even, cooperation. But, if you sit in a room with an American, you immediately sense power, even genius, present, while with a Russian, you sense having to be on guard, even self-defensive. It seems natural for a Skinhead from Seattle to communicate and form

bonds with his mate from Stockholm, even to break down language barriers, but a Skinhead from Minneapolis is perennially wary about opening the gates to someone from Moscow, lest his rights or land be taken away or his blood corrupted. America did not become corrupted when the French welcomed Thomas Paine to offer a hand, but America was disadvantaged when the Russians welcomed Julius Rosenberg and Robert Hannsen to deliver state secrets.
So, can a Russian be a Skinhead? By the same token, can a Jamaican, Jap or Mexican be a Skinhead? The answer is the same. An imitation does not flatter the original, but demeans it. A copycat cannot impart the same as the genuine article, but only be a pale reflection. Why did Martin Luther King put up posters with the slogan Black Is Beautiful? If the idea was so self-evident, no one would need to be prodded or propagandized. Yet, no matter what King said, no one was convinced. And, no matter how loud a Russian claims to be a Skinhead, no one will rest assured.
One suggestion has been to let the Russians care for their own territory, the way Skinheads supported Serbia against NATO. A kind of Russia for Russians, the way Americans want America for Americans. However, there is a slumbering volcano of Russian imperialism (some might call it Russian Bolshevism) just waiting to erupt. It seeks not only to rule the steppes of Asia, but the entire world. A Russian once logged onto the Skinhead Forum and began calling himself a Skinhead. All went well until he was challenged for trying to expand his borders. The Russian became irate, stating, "Let me remind you that Mr. Hitler thought the same way you do. It ended with our flag hanging on the Reichstag building." His reference to "our" flag was, of course, the Communist flag and the "victory" he was so proud of was, actually, won by the Americans propping up his failed Red regime.
So, there is probably a need for vultures just as there is for eagles. The eagle can soar and aspire, while the buzzard scavenges and marauds. But Skinheads identify with the nobler and higher, not the backward and lower. Pride and patriotism become all the more poignant when applied to the fight to preserve a Skinhead's own kind and blood. David Duke once claimed that Russia would "save the white race," but the assertion turned out to be as fraudulent as the dumping of his supporters' cash at casinos. Lothrop Stoddard, the eugenicist and historian, said, however, that Western society progresses in direct proportion to its resistance to the age-old "Russian Peril." To the eagle, the glory.
