валидатора изкарва следната грешка:
Line 13, column 31: there is no attribute "TARGET"
за този код:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
"[линк]">

Дали грешката не е във валидатора заради това:
frame target names (%FrameTarget; in the DTD) must begin with an alphabetic character (a-zA-Z).

It is deprecated.
Target can be found in Transitional, but not Strict. Most deprecated
stuff has been removed from Strict (usually becuase either it was a
bad idea to start with, or there is now a better way to acheive the
same effect).
... I'm sure you already know that "target" is not in all doctypes, that it's considered bad usability to not let users how they want to deal with (new) browser
windows.
... Its one of those non-semantic attributes that has been dropped from Strict without being officially deprecated.
