(CBS) Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld issued a stern warning to Syria on Friday to stop sending military equipment to Iraqi forces, saying such shipments have included night-vision goggles.
“We consider such trafficking as hostile acts and will hold the Syrian government responsible for the incidents,” Rumsfeld said at a Pentagon briefing.
“There's no question but that to the extent that military supplies or equipment or people are moving across the borders between Iraq and Syria, it vastly complicates our situation,” Rumsfeld said.
Asked if the United States was threatening military action against Syria, Rumsfeld said: “I'm saying exactly what I'm saying. It was carefully phrased.”

Това е хубава новина. След Афганистан, дойде ред на Ирак. Очевидно е, че Саддам е пътник. Да се готвят сирийците. Надявам се рано или късно да се стигне и до Палестина. Там няма лабаво. Израелците знаят как да изтребват диваци бързо е ефикасно. Светът наистина ще бъде едно по-добро място без наличието на арабски терористични държави.

Винаги съм казвал че САЩ 'mean business' този път!
И че Афганистан и Ирак са само началото.
Друго е интересното. какво мислиш по този въпрос?
Дали САЩ нарочно бавят Ирак за да разпалят останалите терористично-арабски държави, та да могат като са закарали веднъж войска там да свършат наведнъж цялата работа? Ефективност?

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld issued a warning to Syria Friday, saying that coalition officials had information indicating that shipments of military equipment, including night vision goggles, were being moved into Iraq from Syria.
"These deliveries pose a direct threat to the lives of coalition forces. We consider such trafficking as hostile acts and will hold the Syrian government accountable for such shipments," Rumsfeld said at a Pentagon briefing.
Rusmfeld also warned that armed supporters of Iran's government entering Iraq would be considered enemy combatants if they interfere with U.S. forces there.
Also Friday, U.S. airstrikes on the Iraqi Republican Guard's Medina division, south of Baghdad, have knocked out one-third of its force, U.S. officials said, and other divisions are now moving in from the west and north to reinforce it.
