Britney Spears is to sue a US magazine after it claimed she had snorted cocaine. The star has instructed her lawyers to take action over the allegation, made in Star magazine, that she used the drug in a Miami nightclub in November.

Spears, 21, was said to be "very upset" at being branded a drug-user by the magazine, which said the claims were made by a "trusted" member of her entourage worried at her use of the substance.

Pop princess Britney Spears has got her own back on ex-lover Justin Timberlake, by slamming him in her new single. The hunky hitmaker's most recent release Cry Me a River takes a sneaky pop at Britney, suggesting she cheated on him during their relationship - which ended last March.

But Britney's new single Clubsong hits back, hinting Justin used their break-up to boost publicity for his solo career. The Stronger chart-topper sings, "Playing me publicly, twisting the story, see, made it the talk of the town."

Britney Spears had a steamy two-year affair with actor Ben Affleck, according to reports. The relationship was the real reason why Britney's ex-lover Justin Timberlake dumped her last year, the Daily Star credits US magazine Star as saying. Timberlake, the NSync singer, was 'heartbroken and furious' when he found out that Britney had betrayed him with Affleck, who starred in the film Pearl Harbor. Britney is reported by the magazine as saying: "I am totally hooked on Ben - he's so hot. "It started with heavy-petting, but became a full-blown romance. Justin heard rumors but he didn't believe it," an insider told Star. Affleck's publicist called the allegations "rehashed bulls...".

Pop singer Britney Spears asked Monday to have a restraining order imposed against a 41-year-old Japanese man she claims has been stalking her since September.
According to a petition filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Masahiko Shizawa of Yokohama, Japan, has "tracked and attempted to contact" Spears at her home in Los Angeles, as well as at her second residence and one of her parent's homes, both outside California.

Those attempts have ranged from sending photos of himself along with notes reading, "I'm chasing you," to showing up at Spears' home and refusing to leave when he was ordered off the property, the complaint alleges. Spears' attorney, Joel Strote, asked to have Shizawa barred from coming within 1,000 feet of the 21-year-old singer and from contacting her in any way.

Rumors are now flying around on BBC - Top of the Pops which reported that Britney and Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit after they worked in the recording studio together.

The award for most unlikely couple of the year has already received its first nomination in the form of a rumored romance between the newly rock chick-ed up Britney Spears and the perma-hatted rap-metal squeakmeister Fred 'Limp Bizkit' Durst.

Fred has even taken time to confirm that the rumors have some basis in fact, and ask outraged Limps fans to take a chill pill. He told his official website: "Anybody out there who has a serious problem with my feelings for Britney should just chill and worry about your own feelings for a minute. You can't help what happens in life because everything happens for a reason. I believe that. I am a good judge of character and so is she. It just happens to be a person that I would have thought could make me feel this way. and believe that I have never felt this way, so there".

'N Sync hunk Timberlake, 22, who many times in the past reportedly rejected his ex-girlfriend's wishes to get back together, decided to reach out to the singer while they were both in New York last month. The two were spotted getting into a chauffeur-driven black Suv at around midnight in Manhattan's trendy NoHo district. They later dashed into a building where Spears recently bought and renovated a plush condominium apartment. A source says, "They walked into Britney's building hand in hand. And once the were inside the lobby, they started making out and sucked face all the way to the elevators. They had their arms wrapped around each other. You'd never know that they'd ever broken up. Justin left alone three hours later, looking rumpled and happy. You do the math. Brit was thrilled about what happened. Her night with Justin was hot. But she's keeping the details very close to her heart." But Timberlake and Spears have yet to decide on the fate of their rekindled love - and may even continue dating others. The source tells American tabloid the Star, "Justin is not yet convinced that they're back together for good. He wants to take things very, very slow this time. As much as they love each other, they may see other people while they're dating. They're just gonna have fun getting to know each other all over again."
