At midnight on November 24th 1991 a statement was issued to the world's media saying "Freddie Mercury died peacefully this evening at his house in Kensington, London." Freddie had passed away at 6:50pm GMT. He was aged 45. It was the end of the reign of rock's most colourful, unpredictable and flamboyant performer, a man who was also a remarkable songwriter and showman. There have been many tributes to Freddie since his death, but perhaps he is best remembered through his own words.
