Flash 6 Beta Comments
"I like it a lot!!
The GUI is a hell of a lot more userfriendly than Flash 5.
There are lots of new panels, which you can toggle, more features, you can save your panel layouts, hide them,..
It feels a bit like Dreamweaver and Fireworks
Some new panels include components like checkboxes, comboboxes, listbox,.. also a component parameters panel
There is an awsome debugger panel, actionscript reference panel, accessibility panel,...
The timeline can colapse, which is very nice, and the layers can be put in folders. You can jump fast between nested movies, scenes,..
There is a new transform tool, you can set a custom hex color for the background, which I missed very much
actionscripts!!!
mmm.. Most of the new actionscripts are not referenced in this beta, but you can see them all, and there are a lot, most refering to the components
Havent checked them out, Jeezus, I'm not that advanced, but most of the actions give a good description on what they are, their useage, availabilty and so on..
The actionpanel gives lots of neat features like pinning your actions, find, replace, insert target path, check syntax, auto format, show code hint, view line numbers, and preferences which gives you 5 tabs only for your scripting!
And probably a lot more that I havent checked out yet
Still have to examine the import-export capabilities for example..
btw I saw some video thing in the library, but I can't make a new one..
I sound like a commercial init? hehe
Wel anyway it aint all rainbows, it's still a bиta
The bugs I note are some buttons in the toolbox, and sometimes the panels snap a little wrong.
