I had the same problem with a GPRS link, probably ping gets confused if the
round trip time is higher than the interval.

If you change the interval to something more than the RTT, it should work
without errors (ping -i 3 in your case)

Mersi za infoto. I az biah nabludaval podobno neshto s ping-a i mi beshe stanalo interesno zashto se poluchavat takiva greshki - pri uslovie che ICMP paketite sa dosta malkii. I ne e vapros do kernela - pri men e 2.2.19.
