Many who get high speed internet access are always looking for a way to protect their computer from attacks and their personal info. One way is a software based firewall. One of the most downloaded and popular ones today is the freeware based Zonealarm from Zonelabs at [линк]
All firewalls have some type of loop hole(Exploit). I found something on the net you Zonealarm and Zonealarm Pro users might be interested in.

Zone Labs "ZoneAlarm" and "ZoneAlarm Pro" programs both use a Mutex - an event synchronization memory object - to determine if it has already loaded (to prevent loading a second instance of the firewall).
By design, ZoneAlarm\ZoneAlarm Pro has no way of determining which program actually set the Mutex, thus allowing a Trojan to use the Mutex and block both ZoneAlarm and ZoneAlarm Pro from loading.
Exploit:
A Trojan can easily set this Mutex ("Zone Alarm Mutex") with one simple call to the CreateMutex API (see msdn.microsoft.com for more information on Mutexes). ZoneAlarm and ZoneAlarm Pro are then prevented from loading as long as the Trojan is alive. If ZoneAlarm is running, all the Trojan has to do is terminate the processes of zonealarm.exe, vsmon.exe and minilog.exe first before creating the Mutex. Despite being services, vsmon.exe and minilog.exe can both be killed by any program by setting its local process token privileges to SeDebugPrivilege, giving it the power to kill any process/service.
Demonstration:
A harmless, simple, working executable to demonstrate the vulnerability, is available at:

While the demo program is running, you will not be able to load ZoneAlarm or ZoneAlarm Pro, and if it finds that ZoneAlarm\ZoneAlarm Pro is running, it will terminate the ZoneAlarm processes and services first using SeDebugPrivilege before stealing the ZoneAlarm Mutex. The demo also opens an echo server socket to listen on TCP 7, allowing you to test socket connectivity/data transfer (try telnetting to 127.0.0.1 on port 7 and saying hello).
*Note* I have not used Zonealarm since version 2.1.44 . From what i saw, it worked fine. This post is simply for users who do use it and might be concerned about any loop holes it may have. I do not know how true the findings of this article to be.
някой разбирател би ли дал мнение... аз лично съм използвал ZA до преди да сложа рутъра и въпреки,че съм се завирал на какви ли не места винаги е блокирала опити да ми се сканират портовете...

някой разбирател би ли дал мнение... аз лично съм използвал ZA до преди да сложа рутъра и въпреки,че съм се завирал на какви ли не места винаги е блокирала опити да ми се сканират портовете...

да не си щракнал Lock?
в security му задаваш нивата, там има и бутон advancet. укажи вътрешната си мрежа.
под 2000 съм и съм вдигнал security плъзгача за Internet на High.
В Porgrams-колоната allow conect разреши на браузера ти да се връзва ( да няма кръстче, а отметка).
версията ми е последната от сайта 2.6
в security му задаваш нивата, там има и бутон advancet. укажи вътрешната си мрежа.
под 2000 съм и съм вдигнал security плъзгача за Internet на High.

I ot tam browser-a mi dava che ne moje da se vurje. Niama vutrechna preja, ima samo edna PPP koeto otmetnah, no ne stava, ne sam dal LOCK i sam razrechil na browsera da se svurzva, toest otmetnat e v programs na zone alarm-a

I ot tam browser-a mi dava che ne moje da se vurje. Niama vutrechna preja, ima samo edna PPP koeto otmetnah, no ne stava, ne sam dal LOCK i sam razrechil na browsera da se svurzva, toest otmetnat e v programs na zone alarm-a

PPP(point to point protocol) не тябва да ти е вкл. в ZA! 100% съм сигурен ,че много малко от вашите ISP го поддържат поради ред причини(не ,че не могат...) иначе Марвин ти е казал това което е важно,аз за съжаление не съм я използвал от около год. и не си спомням всичко... при мене с 2к беше:Local = medium , Internet = High. някoй път сайтовете се опитват да видят какъв ти е браузъра или настройките на монитора и фаеруола го засича като атака...на мене ми се е случвало подобно нещо.

сигурно си прав за предмониторният проблем,брато...
кой вариант на ZA използваш, да не е някой кракнат comercial ????
това дето ми е работело на машината с 2к без всякакви настройки и глупости е фри даунлод от ZoneLabs на 2.6-[линк]... що просто не изчистиш всички възможни файлове от машината и не си заредиш цялата програма наново-просто удари линка за Eastern Europe за да ти е по-бързо... няма начин да не работи,освен ако не си заредил някое кофти копие или си ровичкал МНОООГО надълбоко в 2к...
