Hello my loves,

The guru is the dispeller of illusions. The primary illusion is that of being a separate, independent, powerful entity. But there are many secondary illusions as well. For long time followers of Advaita the most powerful illusion is that of believing you are Source. This belief is particularly seductive when it masquerades as deep knowing. Here is where the guru is of greatest value. Unconcerned about matters of doctrine or personal popularity, the guru can see the seekers obstruction and point the way to clarity.

Unfortunately the ego (FSA) often puts up an agonizing fight at this point. It has fallen back to its final defensive position of claiming to know the Truth. As sometimes happens, the seeker may even be in the embarrassing position of being a spiritual teacher. Whether teacher or advanced student, and regardless of life circumstance Grace happens. The illusion is dispelled. That which has always been is revealed. Profoundly simple. Wondrously ordinary. Here. Now. Eternal.

When the understanding happens to deepen itself, compassion and love begin to come to the surface in our daily lives. Others seem to notice the difference and are surprised. When it is realized that our lives are really being lived and that “we” do not live, that it is Consciousness which functions through all the billions of human mechanisms (and all animal mechanisms), the perspective to life changes inexorably. The virtues which organized religions enjoin the individuals to cultivate, seem to happen by themselves.
