DRUMMER SAYS 'LIVE 8' ISN'T THE LEAD-IN FOR MORE PINK FLOYD WORK
Coming off of Pink Floyd's four-song reunion at Live 8 on Saturday (July 2nd), a lot of people are hoping that the band will continue. While it seems they all got along well during rehearsals and their performance, no one's made any definitive plans as of now. Backstage at Hyde Park in London, Floyd drummer Nick Mason told the BBC's Chris Evans that fans shouldn't start lining up for tickets, but he didn't exactly rule out the idea, either: "I don't think we have any plans. This is not the sort of thin end of that big wedge that involves a world tour next year. I think this is just about doing this particular event, and let's see."
The BBC is running an online poll, asking people who gave the best Live 8 performance in London. With over 68,000 votes cast, Pink Floyd leads the list with 26 percent, followed by Velvet Revolver with 19 percent and Madonna with 18 percent. To voice your opinion, go to bbc.co.uk/live8.
Saturday marked the first time since 1981 that Gilmour, Mason, and keyboardist Rick Wright performed with singer-bassist Roger Waters
