The following (late) reply by Aleksandar Donski to Vasil Karlukovski is due
to my browsing through some of the balkan newsgroups recently. A message
titled "E. Gashev about Donski from Shtip", written by VK, caught my
attention. I read the message and forwarded a copy to Aleksandar, on Monday
and the rest is explained below.

---------Who was this Serbian chetnik Donski from Shtip, apparently
sentenced as such after 1944-45, and what he has in common with the widely
known and fervently supported by the Australian and other "antichni
makedonci" _istorichar_ Aleksandar Donski from Shtip? This is the question
the answer to which I am very interested to know in view of the rabid
anti-Bulgarism bordering on racism and insanity of Al. Donski, the cult
historian of the makedonisti? Does anybody now the second name of Donski and
whether it is "M."? "Metodiev"?

MY ANSWER:
First I am sorry that my answer to Karloukovski is so late. Reason is
simple. Today I recieved his message and I am immidately answering on it.
Let me say that if anybody is interested for any information about me, or
things arround me, - I will answer if I know.
Instead of answering me on the historical arguments I am writing about,
Bulgarian chauvinist Karolukovski is interested about my family. As many of
Macedonian families, members of my family also were under influence of
different political opinions during tragical past of our nation and country.
One of them was my father’s brother Metodi Donski, who is dead 11 years ago.
He lived in Serbia before WWII and there he had a furniture factory. As I
have heard from him, he joined a Serbian movement because it was the
strongest anti-communist movement in the place he lived, and because he was
affraid that communists will steal his factory after they will come to power
(which later happened in reality). He declared himself as a Macedonian which
can be seen from his personal documents as well from statements of many
people who know him. He never organizaed "chetnik soldiers", but as a
capitalist he was on trial from communists. But this is not all! If
Bulgarian chauvinist (according to his surname - ethnic Vlach), Karloukovski
really read the book from Eftim Gashev, than he should know that in the same
book Gashev is writting about another Donski, who is also my uncle (my
father’s brother). It is Kiril Donski who was strongly fighting for freedom
of Macedonia, as an officer, in WWII against fascists. After war finished,
he joined an illegal Macedonian organization in order to make independent
and united Macedonia (outside of Yugoslavia). This ilegal organization was
made from Macedonian officers (as he was) and it was not a naive
organization (they had guns, ammunition and so). He told me that main reason
for their anger against Yugoslavia was when they saw how after WWII in
Macedonia, Macedonian officers were "retired" and in their places came
officers from Serbia. Secret Yugoslav police discovered this Macedonian
organization and Kiril Donski was sentenced to jail, while the leader of the
organization was killed. Now he is still alive working as an inventor. Last
year he recieved a title "Knight of Invention" from the Belgian government
because he recieved two medals for his "inventions". During Yugoslavian
communist regime he was on the "black list" of the communists. He is also
mentioned in Gashev’s book, but Karoukovski is hiding this.
Also let me tell you about their sister (my aunt) Paulina during WWII was
married to a Croat nationalist (leutenant of the Ustashi - Croat nationalist
movement under Ante Pavelich). All of the time during WWII she lived in
Zagreb with her husband and on some coctails and so, she met in personaly
Croat leader of the NDH - Ante Pavelich. Her husban (polkovnik Krizhan
Shimich) was killed by Serbian communists in the battle in 1945. After that
she came back in Macedonia, and until her death she strongly hated Yugoslav
communists who destroyed her life and happiness. My father was never
interested in policy.
Also let me tell you that my grand-grand father was teacher in the times
Goce Delchev was teaching in Shtip (I have a document for this) and I have
also dear relatives and friends in Bulgaria (Macedonians and Bulgarians). I
believe that in many Macedonian families situatuion is simmilar. That is why
we, younger generatons, must fight for. We must get rid from all
anti-Macedonian propagandas in order such tragedies never to repeat in our
nation. This doesn't mean that we shouldn't normaly contact with our
neighbours.
I myself was a member of an ilegal anti-Yugoslav Macedonian organization
since 1982 (when I was 21).
In the end let me tell you that any wrong political or other wrong activity
of the member of someones family doesn't utomatically mean that the person
is under same influence. I don't think that there is a normal person who can
not agree with this. I can give a lot of examples to support. For examlpe,
nowadays bulgaroman and anti-Macedonian chauvinist Ilija Talev is relative
(a son?) of the writer Dimitar Talev from Prilep. Same Dimitar Talev was one
of the founders of rthe Yugoslav Communist Party in the times (1919-1920)
when this party was on the Great Serbian positions, declaring that
Macedonians are Serbs. So, what should be Ilija Talev?
Also father of Giorgi Pirinski (a Bulgarian politican), called Geo Pirinski
clear wrote a lot of articles while he was living in USA in 30’s, saying the
truth that Macedonians are not Bulgarians, but a separate nation.
I don't know why Karloukovski is saying that I am a "racist"? Probably
because he can not answer on many questions I am writing about history of
nowadays Bulgarians. But unfortunately for Karoukovski, these arguments I am
taking from Bulgarian books...
