--Madonna's DROWNED WORLD Tour had over 100 tons of equipment. It took two 747 jumbo jets to fly the equipment to between continents. Eight trucks brought the equipment from venue to venue. The equipment fit into 1500 trunks.
--The tour covered 17 different cities, and Madonna performed the show a total of 47 times.
--The stage was 70 square feet by 70 square feet, i.e. 4,900 square feet.
--There were 88 traveling production people.
--The total traveling group was close to 200 people.
--100 local production people were hired for each show.
--Regarding the technology and equipment, it was state of the art, newly made and never before used by an artist or group in Europe. It was a "less is more" philosophy. While it may not have had the biggest number of speakers of any tour, the sound quality was crystal clear and of the highest possible quality.
--The creation of the sound required 103 "inputs"/signals. All Madonna's studio engineers who worked on her last two albums including Pat McCarthy, Spike Stent, Mirwais, William Orbit amongst others had input in creating the "marriage" of a studio and flawless live quality sound in concert setting.
--There were four large video screens on the stage and two in-house screens for close-up viewing.
--The mechanical bull was manufactured in Cheyenne, Oklahoma and was blessed by a priest there prior to being shipped to Los Angeles for rehearsal. The seat was designed to fit Madonna's butt perfectly.
--The flying sequence in the "Geisha Girl" section was a "Peter Pan" style fly rig - single cable, non mechanical. Three flying people balanced offstage with each of the three flying people - including Madonna.
--Favorite backstage drinks: Red Bull and Starbucks Cappuccino
--Favorite pill: Advil which was purchased by the case
--Madonna played a Gibson Les Paul guitar on "Candy Perfume Girl." She used a Monte Pittman acoustic guitar for "I Deserve It" and "Secret." She used a nylon-stringed classical for "La Isla Bonita." She has studied guitar daily for the last eight months. All playing, as well as singing, was completely live.
--Madonna chnaged many elements of the tour for the very LAST SHOW in Los Angeles. To read a complete description of what she did during this show

Postponements, cancellations, and re-schedules:
--The very FIRST TWO SHOWS of the tour were CANCELED (and never re-scheduled) due to time constraints and technical difficulties.
--She also canceled her second show in New Jersey, (supposedly) due to laryngitis on August 3rd - and NEVER re-scheduled it - this ENRAGED her fans, and many "former fans" will never forgive her!
--Madonna was TWO HOURS late for her first show in Washington DC (August 10th) - she got stuck in the rain, and her flight was delayed!
--The September 11th show was postponed until Saturday the 15th, due to the terrorist attacks in the USA. However, Madonna donated the proceeds from the final three shows of the tour to charities related to the terrorist events, in response to the horrible attacks in New York City and Washington DC on September 11th .
