Toï Doï
Coming from the early 90s underground trance & hardcore scenes, Toi Doi's sound has travelled around the world for a long time. Montreal, Tokyo, Berlin or Tel Aviv have experienced his acid, cerebral compositions that keep feeding the techno world. After a collaboration with Micro-point or the experimental projects led by Extraversif (Rex club, April 1995 - Paris), Toï Doï was soon discovered by Goa Gil, the mythical designer of the Goa parties. Straight after, his compositions were to become part of the master's mix @ 96's Love Parade in berlin. Following a collaboration with POF records, he signs in 1998 with the Israeli label Avatar records hitting the alternative trance scene. A music that expresses itself far beyond the western urban cells. With the creation of the E-Watt label, and the release of Sustentator and Psyring test, Toï Doï re-establishes contact with his home country.
A sound perfectionist - with a former education in classical & jazz music - he's also keen on electronics and devises his own machines. A habit inherited from the inadequacies of the musical computing in the 90s. «I wanted modular synthesizers to be driven by MIDI, so I modified filters, invented LFOs, ADSR etc... so as to interconnect them », he explains. His workshop, furnished with atypical machines, is not only a locus for research but also one of the meeting points for an artistic collective. His project, an outnormed mixture of digital abstraction and craftsmanship, is the fruit of a long maturation - which contrasts with a so often superficial artistic environment. A search in the margins that gives to his sounds something genuine and astounding. As for his specific work of composing, his theoretical sense of random or melodic mastery overlaps with technical abilities. A singular blend, nearly a Belief, which allows him to outstretch and achieve an uncommon substance. Toï Doï, a polymorphic sound fanatic, has been spending all his nights to this research, for more than 10 years.
Не го бях чувала досега и ми се струва, че съм била пропуснала нещо стойностно.
