Geri Halliwell's pregnancy seems to have had the unexpected bonus of healing divisions with some of the former Spice Girl's old friends. First there were the outings with Victoria Beckham, who took her ex-band mate to dinner and gave her lots of baby tips. Then at the weekend there was a luxurious baby shower organised for her by George Michael.
The friendship between the pair reportedly cooled five years ago as a result of the Faith singer thinking Ginger Spice, as she was then known, was using him for publicity. But any falling out appeared to be water under the bridge when a glowing Geri arrived at her old chum's plush London home on Sunday. Shortly after, she was followed inside by her girl band colleague Emma Bunton.
Before the party, an insider revealed that George's partner Kenny Goss was taking care of all the details. "Kenny's making sure there's a beautiful spread of chocolates and cakes," said the source. "He's filling their home with bright, fresh flowers and balloons. He wants everything to be perfect - like a real, traditional American Park Avenue baby shower."
Madrid-based Victoria was tied up with commitments in Spain, but sent a beautifully wrapped present instead. And the strawberry blonde mother-to-be is so appreciative of Posh's support she's even thinking of giving her child - who is said to be a girl - the same name.
