Hello Elena,
Thank you for your donation and for sending me your BigY data.
I originally designed my phylogenetic software (software for generating
Y-trees) to handle Geno 2.0 data. Since November I have been adapting it for "next-generation sequencing" results, such as Full Genome Corp.'s comprehensive Y test and FTDNA's BigY product. It took most of March for me to devise a way to compensate for BigY's variable coverage of the Y chromosome. I think I have most of those issues resolved now. This past month has been spent streamlining the non-phylogenetic aspects -- the parts of the process before and after the generation of the Y-tree -- a workflow for receiving and queuing data and generating and distributing personalised phylogenetic reports.
I am sorry for being so slow to reply or acknowledge receipt of your data until now; I have been equally slow to acknowledge most of the other data sent to me. There's only so much time I can spend in front of a computer screen each day, and all of it is currently spent writing computer code.
My plan is to explore the commercialisation of my software, in order to offset the months of research and development that went into it. To this end, I am writing to announce the launch of www.clarifYDNA.com, a website to accompany my automated phylogenetic analysis service. This website will streamline the report delivery process.
As a token of appreciation for you sending me your data, your kits'
analysis is complementary.
In a separate email you will receive login instructions for www.clarifYDNA.com -- if not, check your junkmail folder. Kindly allow a few moments after you receive the notification email for me to transfer the management of your kits to your account.
I may also update the ytree.MorleyDNA.com predictor's underlying tree, but at the moment that is less of a priority. If I do update the predictor's tree data, it will never contain "private" or narrow-scope SNPs -- markers possibly distinct to participants' immediate patrilines.
Kind regards,
Chris Morley
