Ako oshte se interesuwash eto malko poweche informacia za work permits
Switzerland does not use the term "work permit" in its traditional sense. The residence permit is a combination of both a residence and work permit, entitling the holder to live in a particular Canton and work for a specified employer.
Types of Permits
Issued after arrival in Switzerland, but only to individuals with an "Assurance of a Residence Permit" and/or a visa for the purpose of employment.
Seasonal Permit (A Permit)
For seasonal employment in the construction business, hotel and vacation industries; the maximum time allowed is 9 months, but the usual period is 4 - 5 months. (Entry and exit dates must be strictly observed).
Standard One-Year Permit (B Permit)
For a specific job, valid for a limited period, usually one year, renewable.
Permanent Residence Permit (C Permit)
Entitles the holder to select and work in any occupation (except law and medicine). These permits may only be applied for by a person already holding a B Permit in Switzerland for 5 - 10 years, depending on nationality.
Residence Permit
(For senior citizens; each person must file his/her own application). As a rule, people older than age 60 who have retired from professional/business activities and wish to join close relatives living in Switzerland have a good chance of being granted this type of permit.
Procedure for Formal Employment
A or B Permits take approx. 6-8 weeks. The prospective employer in Switzerland must apply for a WORK PERMIT at the immigration authority. If such a permit is granted, the "Assurance of a Residence Permit" (German: "Zusicherung der Aufenthaltsbewilligung" French: "Assurance d'autorisation de sйjour" Italian: " Assicurazione di rilascio di un permesso di dimora") is sent to the employer as well the employee.
Nationals who require a visa to work in Switzerland (most non-Europeans) must file a personal application at an embassy or consulate for the work visa at the same time as the employer applies for the work permit in Switzerland. An authorization to issue the visa is sent to the competent Swiss Embassy/Consulate General after the work permit has been issued and the appropriate visa has to be issued in your passport prior to your departure.
After arrival, every person must register with the immigration authority within 8 days of arrival and, at all events, before starting work.
Foreign spouses of Swiss citizens and children of Swiss parents who are not Swiss citizens must follow the immigration procedure outlined above. However, they are not subject to the quota restrictions. An employer in Switzerland should have no difficulty in obtaining a work permit for such an applicant.
Requirements for Obtaining a Work Visa in Switzerland:
Two recent passport photos
A copy of your passport
Your request will be forwarded for a decision to the competent cantonal foreign police where you intend to work or study and the Swiss Embassy or Consulates General are only allowed to issue your visa upon receipt of the authorization. Please note that the procedure takes approx. 6-8 weeks.
