Dear Sirs,
I'd like to formally inform and complain to you that the Bulgarian ccTLD Administrator has stopped servicing the domain name isoc.bg without any prior warning.
This has and is causing disturbance in ISOC-Bulgaria communications, lost mail and quite a substantial damage, which amounts is still to be defined.
They claim it was not paid - something which is still to be investigated. But even if it was not paid, say because our accountant was pregnant and delivered a baby on February 26th, there was NO WARNING whatsoever received on the e-mail addresses listed in the whois database of the .bg ccTLD that the tax is due. It's a different subject why the tax is $ 60/year, at times when all over the world companies offer the same service for other top level domains for as less as 10 (ten) times - $ 6 / year. And of course, there are examples of .bg top level domains which are not paid, but are still working - e.g. acad.bg.
We consider this behavior of the .bg ccTLD as another example of bad business practices - something of which you could find traces back about 12 years ago, as I was recently reminded, in Jon Postel's archives.
Further, this behavior is against all current RFC, policies, and last, but not least, against the Bulgarian Law for customers' protection.
While we are sending you this e-mail as another sign of the way the .bg ccTLD is "performing", or should I say - under performing? - we shall keep our options opened for filing a case against Register.bg at the Fair Trade Commission and/or the Commission for Protection of Customers and Rules of Trade to the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy. We may be looking compensations for the damages caused and the funding lost through the usual civil case channels.
