I’ve been following the plan to the letter for four weeks and I haven’t seen any progress. What should I do?
The first thing to check if you have hit a plateau, or if you’re not seeing any progress, are your measurements? It’s probable that you’re losing size even if the scale isn’t moving. Next, check your food portion sizes. It’s especially important not to overdo it with cheeses, nuts or butter because the fat and calorie content is so very high. And in our experience, if someone is not making progress, these particular foods are often the culprit. There needs to be a caloric deficit in order to lose weight, in other words, calories taken in have to be less than calories going out, even if you are taking in mainly protein and healthy fats. There is the possibility that you may be exceeding your protein requirement by too much at each meal. Though we tell people that this is not a maximum, if you do exceed it by a wide margin every day, you will have trouble getting weight reduction results. Keep a journal of every bite of food and drink you put in your mouth. You must be meticulous about your portions. Be certain that you are taking in at least, your minimum protein requirement. You need protein to support your lean mass, which fuels your metabolic rate. Keep meticulous count of your carbohydrate intake. There are a lot of hidden carbs in foods such as condiments, nuts, dairy products, etc. Read your labels!
