A gala celebration honoring the best motion graphics on earth
The Flash™ Film Festival is an inspiring and entertaining evening celebration honoring the Web's best motion graphic creations. On the evening of July 11, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Midtown Manhattan, the Flash™ Film Festival will screen sixty finalists and announce winners in12 categories, plus the People’s Choice award
From now until 5:00pm PDT, May 25, anyone, anywhere can nominate any site to the 12 categories below. From the nominated pool of sites, a jury of expert artistic and technical industry peers will choose five finalists in each category. These 60 finalists will be showcased on the Flashforward2001 website as of 9:00am PDT, June 11. Winners of the Festival in 12 categories are determined by a second jury of professional artistic and technical peers.
The “People’s Choice” award - the 13th category awarded at the ceremony - is chosen from among the 60 finalists by public online vote here on the Flashforward2001 site. From 9:00am, PDT, June 11 to 5:00pm PDT, July 4, the work of 60 finalists (5 in each category) will be showcased and available for public vote. Winner of the People’s Choice award is determined by you, so don’t forget to check back and vote!
Rules:
1. Nominations must consist of at least 50% Flash™ development.
2. A single site can be submitted for nomination to more than one category, but can become a finalist in ONLY one category.
3. A single site can only be a FINALIST and/or a WINNER in ONLY ONE
festival. In other words, a site that was a finalist or winner in a previous
festival will not be considered for nomination again.
4. Each piece of work submitted must have a different URL from any previously submitted piece of work. The URL cannot be the same as the URL of previously submitted work. Even if the present submission is on the same website as a prior submission, there must be a subdirectory distinction between the URLS of present and previous submissions for the new submission to be a valid entry.
5. Unless specified by URL in the submission, an entire site will be judged as the basis for one category (in other words, an entire website of cartoons will be judged for the cartoon category unless only one specific cartoon of a series is submitted as the URL).
