Description: Ciguatoxin and tetrodotoxin can both poison cats that ingest some tropical and semitropical marine fish species (ciguatoxin) or puffer fish (tetrodotoxin). While they have differing modes of action the clinical pictures are similar.

Signs: Abnormal forelimb reflexes, Abnormal hindlimb reflexes, Anorexia, Arrhythmia, Ataxia, Bradycardia, Coma, Diarrhea, Dysmetria, Dysphagia, Dyspnea, Excessive salivation, First degree atrioventricular heart block, Generalized weakness, Inability to stand, Increased respiratory rate, Lacrimation, Mydriasis, Paraparesis, Second degree atrioventricular heart block, Seizures or syncope, Tachycardia, Tetraparesis, Vomiting or regurgitation
