Britney Spears is to sue a US magazine after it claimed she had snorted cocaine. The star has instructed her lawyers to take action over the allegation, made in Star magazine, that she used the drug in a Miami nightclub in November.

Spears, 21, was said to be "very upset" at being branded a drug-user by the magazine, which said the claims were made by a "trusted" member of her entourage worried at her use of the substance.
